Welcome to the Messiverse, NFTs help fund Olympic dreams & Chiliz x Socios had a very busy week
Following last week's news that Messi received a handful of PSG fan tokens when he signed for PSG, this week the footballing superstar launched his own NFT collection, coined the 'Messiverse'.
Furthermore, the PSG x Messi token deal has also got other clubs thinking about how they sign players, such as Liverpool.
I believe we are going to see more NFT projects that let you support athletes in their pursuit of greatness, so it was interesting to see that the Jamaican Bobsled team has created an NFT project to help fund its way to the next winter Olympics.
The Detroit Pistons rookie, Cade Cunningham has agreed to an exclusive, multi-year endorsement deal with crypto company BlockFi. As part of his deal, Cunningham will receive 100% of his signing bonus in Bitcoin.
Additionally, European football team PSV, are now taking sponsorship money in the form of Bitcoin. Their latest deal with Anycoin Direct saw them receive the entire sponsorship paid in Bitcoin.

Chiliz and Socios are showing no signs of slowing down their plans for world domination of the sports fan engagement space. This week they announced seven partnerships with seven NBA teams in seven days, taking their involvement within NBA teams to 10.
Also, Socios made more history this week, as AS Roma's Henrikh Mkhitaryan became the first player to score in an official match at the Olimpico with the new AS Roma goal song, chosen by $ASR Fan Token holders.
